Minimal Running Costs

Voice and data calls can easily be combined on the same airtime contract. Roadrunner Cab-Link can send traffic jobs using a live data call - and receive unlimited updates. Drivers can also send updates about a job directly to an office based Roadrunner booking screen and daily traffic diary.

With one call you can retrieve vehicle information e.g. positioning details, engine management (diagnostics), fuel and driver analysis etc. Roadrunner Cab-Link instantly interrogates tachograph information and verifies drivers’ hours, even alerting the driver for rest breaks.

All alarms can be configured e.g. speeding, drivers’ hours, messages etc.

An important element of this system is the data call, which requires one sim card and happily works on all networks, for example Vodafone and Orange.

All information sent to and from vehicles is by DDC (Direct Data Call), not costly SMS messages. SMS calls are not only more expensive, the information received may not actually be live and could be hours or even days old. DDC calls provide truly live data transfers. Most Roadrunner Cab-Link calls last just 10 seconds which, depending on your airtime supplier, will cost you as little as 1p per vehicle data transfer.

Using SMS requires at least two messages and can cost as much as 20p just to get a position, compared to just 1p with Roadrunner Cab-Link.
